HOW TO PLAN YOUR ALL DAY ELOPEMENT
Thinking of eloping this year but don’t know where to begin? You’re in the right place! We’re in this together.
First, let me just say you deserve an epic wedding day experience. You can elope, include your family & friends AND have a memorable wedding day that feels tailored to you and your love.
There’s a lot of things out there in the vast and crazy internet world that suggest an elopement is just like a fancy photoshoot. My heart sinks a little and I get bummed out when I see couples accepting this as truth because it sure the HECK IS NOT. If you’re considering eloping but don’t know where to begin, I’m here for you. If you’re pivoting your big wedding or just dreaming up what an elopement would be like for you two, HORRY! You’re in the right place. It can be difficult to get the gears working and envision something that you’ve never done better! Hint, that’s where I come in.
I’ve crafted 2 totally unique full day elopement experiences that are based on things my couples have chosen to do for their elopement. My hope is that this give you some inspiration and the excitement to say “heck yes, this is for us!” because in all honesty, I believe so wholeheartedly that eloping is the best way to celebrate your love and honor your partnership. You deserve more than a 2 hour “photoshoot” for your freakin wedding day. This will forever be your anniversary day, let’s make it spectacular. I believe every couple deserves the most extraordinary intimate wedding experience — and it all starts here!
EXAMPLE FULL-DAY ELOPEMENT EXPERIENCE TIMELINE #1
9:00am-10:30am — enjoy coffee (or some bubbly) on the balcony & breakfast together in your rad Airbnb (one of my favorites here).
10:30 — enjoy a long walk around the beautiful Airbnb’s property/trail nearby and chat about what you’re most excited about for your big day together!
12:15pm — begin getting ready. Have your hair & makeup come to your sweet Airbnb. Many wonderful hair and makeup vendors will come right to you for the morning of your elopement. See my VIP preferred vendor list right here.
1:30pm — First look on the balcony
2:00pm — leave for your ceremony in the great smoky mountains (more elopement location suggestions coming in another blog post soon)
2:30pm — arrive at your ceremony location, revel in the amazingness of the view that you’re about to say “I do” in front of.
3:30pm — enjoy a leisurely hike to have your first dance on the mountain top
4:30pm — explore the gorgeous national park and take our creative portraits
6:30pm — meet your friends & family at the Omni Grove Park Inn’s Sunset Terrance to celebrate! Eat, drink, have your toasts & enjoy!
EXAMPLE 12 HOUR FULL-DAY ELOPEMENT EXPERIENCE TIMELINE #2
6:00am — meet Phyllis from Asheville Hot Air Balloons downtown where she’ll take you to the departure location.
7:30am — time for take off!
7:45am — say your vows above the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains at sunrise and enjoy the ride.
9:30am — land (safely) in a beautiful field and jump for joy because YOU’RE MARRIED!
10:00am — We sign the marriage license, take some creative portraits and then enjoy some bubbly and donuts wrapped in blankets. Breakfast of champions, I’d say.
12:00pm — return to our cars and we head to one of my favorite wildflower fields in Chimney Rock, NC to explore, have your first dance & enjoy a picnic lunch!
4:00pm — head back to your stunning Airbnb on a winery (a favorite + only 30 minutes away from Chimney Rock)
5:00pm relax then enjoy dinner by a private chef.
7:00pm — enjoy your wedding cake, exchange any gifts & have fun playing with sparklers outside.
