A very New York Engagement

Sabaa & Jacob met in high school and had been doing life and love together for 10 years! Freaking incredible. He proposed on their 10th anniversary in their hometown and decided to travel to the city to celebrate their love and have a very New York engagement. If you’ve ever watched Gossip girl you know Bethesda Terrace is a vibe for a lot of reasons. We chose that location to achieve their modern, romantic engagement photo dreams.

As we were shooting I felt like I discovered a new part of my style…was it creepy? No that’s not it. But kind of YOU-ish. If you know what I mean. Lemme explain…if you haven’t seen the show You with Penn Badgley, iconic Gossip Girl alum, definitely get on it. Some of the moments in the show are shot with such stalker-ish intention its weirdly beautiful and cinematic. For the first time I felt like I unlocked a new part of my style with this shoot realizing all of this. It wasn’t in fact creepy, but rather romantic in the way that I wanted my couples to feel like they were in their own romantic film when they looked back at their gallery because it really did feel like that third wall was never broken.

Each shoot, elopement and wedding teaches me something new, and I’m so grateful for couples like these two that are always excited to create and have fun together!
