Here’s a few tips from your industry friend to help the planning process and your big day run wonderfully! Got questions? Dm me!
2. Keep open conversation with your vendors. I can’t speak for everyone, but as your photographer, I want to be 100% open and honest with you, every single step of the way, because I know this fosters trust and in the end, a magical wedding day! I expect you to do the same with me. I can serve you best when we are able to have candid conversations through the entire journey.
3. Remind yourself of the end goal, marrying your best friend and starting your married life together! Yes – the dress, the food, the venue, the Airbnb, the stationary, the flights, the guests – all that jazz, it’s all so wonderful. But the real magic is in the love that glues it all together, don’t lose sight of that. Make decisions with that feeling.
4. Decide on your non negotiables & get real real about what you actually want, or never wanted (we were just doing the 250 person wedding to please our parents, we’d prefer the California coast with just our favorite people rather than a barn in our hometown, the decor never felt important but we felt like we had to do it, nature feels more “us” than a big venue” I value having an extravagant dress and I want to dance, damn it.
5. There’s never been a better time to book your vendors quickly. Due to all the rescheduling, dates are filling up fast. This does not mean rush your decision, but rather create the time to get to know your wedding team. I do not book anyone without having a zoom date with them first! This is so important to me I want to get to know you BOTH and your wedding dreams so we can make it all happen together. Starting our relationship this way allows me to capture your big day from the lens of someone that truly cares about you.
Trust that at the end of the day, the only thing that really matters, what you’ll leave your big day with, is the love you have for your new life partner, your best friend, your person (& your photographs of course ?)
Xx,
Leandra
